My partner and I had seen numerous builders discussing our plans and ideas for our future home. None had the service like JAC. 

JAC took us seriously at our first meeting and followed up on all our questions asked. 

If they couldn’t answer it on the spot they would ensure that they would find the answer and respond within a timely manner. 

Karan, helped us through the selection stage with ease. If we weren’t certain on something she would allow us time to decide. She was very patient as I procrastinated over a lot of my selections. 

Once we had everything finalised and had a date for when the works began it all fell into line very quickly. Within a week the slab was poured and frame was up. Graham our site supervisor was excellent with following up on any questions we had. He would ensure all the work was completed correctly, well above standards. 

The workmen hired were fantastic. The bricklayers did an amazing job. The plumber answered all our questions and assisted us with the layout on the pipe work inside and outside. 

The tiler ensured that his work was completed without fault and took precautions to make sure that when the tiles were laid, no one damaged the work. 

The painter was great, Kym ensured that all work completed was perfect. Ensuring that the vanishing coats dried correctly without fault. 

Everyone worked as a team to achieve the goal of having a great house built. Communication is key to building and JAC truely delivered. 

We’ve had trades people come through the house and compliment how well and structurally sound the house is.

I am happy to recommend JAC Homes.  Initially we approached JAC Homes with a floor plan design that we had developed over many months.  The design was for a reasonably large single storied house.   However, our block of land is relatively small and it has an unusual shape. We needed to negotiate some exemptions from the full application of the Council’s standard building requirements.  We could not see a way through the local Government development approval process without losing much of the amenity that we had incorporated into our design.  Jodie Austin expertly guided us through the local government development approval process.  She suggested changes to the visual appearance of the roofline and the addition of verandas which enhanced the external appearance of the house, while leaving the internal floor plan and spaces very much as we had originally proposed.  The negotiations with the Council were successful due to Jodie’s understanding of both the Council’s priorities and our priorities and because of her ability to develop creative solutions which proved mutually acceptable. 

The process of selecting materials, colours and internal fittings was intense but very engaging.  It required a very significant time commitment from us.  Of course, like most builders, JAC referred us to skilled external consultants for help on kitchen design and the electrical wiring design.  However, for all other aspects of the selection process we were expertly guided to diverse sources of products and ideas by JAC’s Karan Cazzolato.  Karan’s knowledge is extensive and informed by experience.  She functioned as our coach.  She displayed an instinctive feel for what would, and would not, “work”.  She understands colour and colour combinations.   

The construction of the house was managed by Graham Bullimore who is JAC’s Construction Manager.  It was a pleasure to liaise with Graham throughout the construction phase.  He is knowledgeable about trade issues and impressed us with his skill in developing practical solutions when problems arose.  He was responsive to our requests and reliably followed issues through to resolution.  He is very obviously held in high regard by the various subcontractors who worked on our house.

JAC use a small group of subcontractors who they have identified as really competent in their trade.  We are extremely happy with the quality of all of the building work.  We are glad that we chose JAC Homes to build our house.

Prior to building with JAC Homes Kath had built 4 houses with an Italian Builder who had retired by the time they were ready to build again. They originally approached a larger builder before coming to JAC Homes, however this builder had a large amount for travel in their price of between $8,000 - $10,000. The main reason for coming through JAC Homes was that they were told we did not charge travelling.

The service was great with all off JAC Homes Staff (just to keep in mind Solar Panels) as this was not asked about at any of the meetings.

They were very happy with the trades used on their site particularly the Bricklayers Kath said she did provide morning tea for them when she saw them on site, she was also very happy with the tiler who made suggestions on how to lay the tiles particularly to the kitchen splashback which turned out great. She also commented on Kym the painter and was very happy with the standard of painting. On handover there was a dirty mark on the wall and Kym the painter, painted the whole wall so it would not show a patch, Kath was very impressed by the level of workmanship and care taken.

Kath said that their supervisor Graham was great, and prompt in responding to their calls – she said he was funny and cheeky, the reason being that when she said to Graham about making sure that she would be able to see herself properly in the Ensuite / Bathroom mirrors because of her height, he quickly came back with a reply that she could wear high heels. Ha Ha.

At the end of the day, they had no problems, not one hic-up with the building process from the beginning to the end.

Kath commented that we were the best builder ever, she absolutely loves the house and has no plans to move again. Her husband said the best part of the house for him was the large wide passage coming into the house which reminded him of his parents home, and he was surprised when it walked into the house and saw the size of it. They have no complaints about the home and have had no maintenance issues, very happy with the whole process.
